The Singularity Table visualises the enormous gravitation of a black hole in the very centre of a table that leading through a cone ends in an invisible dark hole. By the general relativity there is inside a black hole a certain point in which a singularity will be formed. A gravitational singularity is a location where the quantities which are used to measure the gravitational field become infinite.
This furniture sculpture symbolizes a scientific discourse in a three dimensional object. Physics, technology and design are here realized through modern substances. Fiber glass and carbon fiber are used in a polymer matrix. The moulds are cnc-milled by cad data.
The purpose of this object is a combination of a scientific approach on design and the suitability for daily use. The glass top in the centre of the table can be removed.
